Esme rose slowly from her seat on the bed, she felt guilty because she had acted that way towards him. She liked him, she did, but the power that emanated off of him was so pure, so strong... she wasn't sure how she had reacted, but she knew that however it was she had upset him. She moved closer to him, wanting to place a hand on his shoulder, to tell him that he hadn't done anything wrong, but she didn't know if that was true or not.

He offered her money, "No, I can't take your money, I have more than enough as is." She felt so bad, he was being such a gentleman despite what had gone on between them. If he had started off this way she may have ended up in the same place as she had been moments before, but on better terms. She didn't want this to end this way, as stupid as they had both been, she knew that they could probably hold a civilized conversation.

It was when he offered to call her a cab that she made her move. She took a step towards him, confident and strong, she was determined to spend time with this guy, whether he liked it or not. "You intrigue me," her eyes narrowed thoughtfully as she processed the words that wanted to pour out of her mouth, she spoke slowly and with reason. "You acted like any other man would with a girl he wanted, but then you realize that you've got too much control over me. That your powers, those of an extremely powerful fallen, had affected me, a witch who has only been practicing for a few years, so much. It's understandable though, I'm still new at all of this, you've probably had more time to hone into your strength. But once you figured it out, you stopped and you felt bad, remorseful even. And then you act like this, offering me such kindness when I probably did as much damage as you."

She took hold of his hand and tried to guide him towards the bed, a hard feat when a woman of Esme's stature was trying to move a creature as magnificent as Lucas. "So, I don't see why we should both leave this room, I mean, you paid for it for the night. I want to get to know how you tick, and maybe we'll leave in the morning as allies or sometime tonight as enemies, but there's no way of knowing what's to come until we try, right? So, what do you say? Want to stay and talk for a while?"

[Lucas]

Lucas was taken aback. Never had he expected what she was saying he felt her touch and he followed her slowly. He stared at the bed unsure if he should return. He looked at her then down again. He didn't know if he felt right about this. He sighed and returned to the bed. "I guess...I just don't want to hurt you...that's not my intention. With most girls they just fall to that power, but I've learned to help them forget we ever had time spent together...keep disatance...safer that way." He looked at her "So that's why I think it's best if we remain separate...trust me" he said to her. "I want to keep you safe" he explained.

Esme made a dismissive sound as she listened to Lucas speak. She was busy moving the chair he had been sitting in moments before closer to the bed, "I don't exactly see how you can keep me safe, Lucas. Truth be told, I get myself into enough trouble on a daily basis, so much so that I think a conversation between the two of us won't tip the balances any more than they already have been."

She had finally wrestled the chair to it's new spot across from Lucas and she practically threw her body onto the chair, leaning on one arm and throwing her legs over the other. She definately hadn't learned this sitting position at home, but she didn't care. "Together or apart, I've been touched by your power, as you have been mine, and I highly doubt either one of us will forget that any time soon. So play along. Please?" Esme smiled sweetly as she requested that of Lucas, what exactly it was, she didn't know but she knew the first step to finding out for sure was to have him actually sit down and stay there to talk with her.

He looked at her and sighed. He took a seat back in the chair across from her and watched as she gazed a him, studied him. It was an awkward feeling but he didn't say anything. He simply sat there and watched her facial expressions coming from her. He looked at her and sighed "So...what do you want to know?" he asked. "I'm open for questions" he said teasingly. This girl seemed to know what she wanted. He figured she'd get her answers and he probably wouldn't protest any longer unless it was a serious danger to her. His power was stronger now, stronger than a week or so ago and he knew that made him a target for Satan who was trying so hard to take over.

Esme thought... he'd let her ask anything. That's when every possible question swirled through her head. Things that were probably too personal to ask and things that she'd never learn from someone else she knew that he may tell her, not knowing entirely what they had been trying to shield her from.

She finally determined to start by getting to know the person sitting across from her and then she'd go from there. "So, what's it like being a fallen? I'd ask why you fell but I don't want to get you upset or anything... so that one's in the air if you want to answer that as well. But how long has it been since you fell, or do you not keep track because that's cool too."

[Lucas]

He gave a light chuckle at her words. She was very curious as most were. "I've been fallen 6 years now...and I fell for love" he began. "I was aguardian angel...and I was watching this woman...she had been in a car accident and was paralyzed. A newlywed who wanted children. So I gave her a miracle and she felt my presence and God's after that. I grew fond of her...fell in love. I chose her love over leaving her be and moving t guard someone else...but when I spoke and told her she thought I was crazy...she fell apart after that and is dead now" he said upset. He didn't go into detail with his other true love. "But besides the odd gazes and power...its not so bad anymore...just hard to know angels are constantly looking at you in disgust. And watching those you love pass you by" he said.

He had fallen for love, that had to be one of the most tragically romantic things ever. Esme understood how love could take over a person and not want to let go, no matter how hard you tried to get free. But she also understood that all humans died, it was inevitable just like taxes so Esme didn't quite understand why someone who had everything they could ever want would fall for the Lord's Grace for something as stupid as love of a human.

But in a way she still found it so ridiculously understandable but his story brought up one little question that she had wondered about since she was little. "How can the angels have rules for when they fall? Aren't there only a certain number of angels up there? Like what rules are there specifically and is there a three strike rule or is it 'you broke our no talking to humans rule, you are out of the club'?"

[Lucas]

He looked at her and smiled "It's disobeying...the worst thing you can do is disobey" he said. "We are given choice just as much as humans it's just harsher consequences for the wrong decision. Like when I chose to fall I was warned if I did so I could never return. I was naieve and it was not the correct choice in their eyes...but I wouldn't change my answer...even now knowing what was to become of it" he said. "And apparently it might have been part of my fate" he said. He thought about Lucifer being his brother. How Lucifer looked after him but the angels kept them apart because Lucifer had chosen to fall...but they figured it was only a matter of time before Lucas did as well.
