The sun had just disappeared beneath the western horizon, leaving the sky a pale periwinkle blue, that faded into the inky darkness. From her perch in the upper branches of an old growth oak, Kaet could still see for miles. the rolling top of the forest was still bathed in half light. on the ground though, she knew that it would be aproaching true dark. A light breeze rustled the leaves surrounding her. It carried the scents of autumn--light rain and that certain crisp smell that is only present in the spring and fall. Kaet streched, opening her wings to their full size, letting the wind blow through the feathers. It felt good to be here. She may not entirely accept her shapeshifting, but the ability of flight was a marvelous thing. There were certainly some bonus's to the whole situation. From a distance, she heard the hunting call of a hawk. Kaet did not answer back. Golden Eagles were nearly unheard of in this part of the world, and she preferred to keep the truth to herself.
As true dark finally claimed the treetops, Kaet left her branch, and glided to the floor below. she had deposited clothing at the base of the tree before she shifted, knowing she would need them. Kaet willed herself back to her human shape, feeling bones elongate and others disappear. it was not an unpleasant sensation, but it was something she nessiceraly enjoyed. When she was fully human again, she slipped the light brown dress over her head. It was one of her favorites, even if it was a little cliche. It was the color of suede. being half native, Kaet was aware that she looked something like a modern day pochahontas when she wore it, but that didn't stop the dress from being uncofterable. Besides, if looking like a disney princess was the worst thing she had to worry about, life was treating her way too kindly.
tying her hair back away from her face, Kaet ventured a bit father through the forest. There was little that she feared here, and getting lost was not on the list, she would fly out if she was desperate.
