((no worries ) The joking tone of the first inquiry after the details of his existence had long since passed. So passed was his amusement over her awe. He enjoyed her interest, so the temper that usually rose when he grew annoyed lie dormant for now. If she pressed further, however, she might force it out despite his efforts to restrain it. "I think, my swan, this is the last answer I shall give on the subject of my inhumanity. I've had centuries to adjust to the problems it presents but if I am able, I refrain from thinking of them." A short pause here. "The likeness of the wolf does serve as protection enough from the sun's harsh glare. But then, would you not stare should you see a large wolf making it's way down the city streets? Even the back ones? I would rather not contend with animal control. The hat and glasses are a small annoyance in comparison. The form of a bat does not agree much more with sunlight than my own." Footsteps resonated off the empty walls of the building downstairs and a familiar power drifted through the floorboards. Morgan Le Fey had arrived. He didn't attempt to hide the relief that swept across his face like wind swept the sand of a desert. The footfalls got closer and only when Morgan stood in the doorway did he remember how close he sat to Esme. His posture straightened so that he was as far away from Ms. Esme as the chair would allow. He would never hear the end of the sorceress' suspicions now, never. Vlad shook his head at her question of interrupting. "You're not interrupting, my dear Morgan. We only awaited your arrival." He was sure to emphasize the word only. "But my manners escape me. Esme, may I present one of my oldest friends, Morgan Le Fey. Morgan, this is the girl I spoke of to you earlier, Esme M. Lolland." He'd spoken briefly to Morgan of mentoring his swan the day prior.

Esme was upset that she had been impudent enough to ask Vlad such a question, one that seems to have angered him so much. She felt as if she had crossed so many lines and only hung her head in slight shame, barely even listening to Vlad's answer. She couldn't believe she had so blatantly disobeyed what her parents had asked of her. "I'm sorry to have asked," she mumbled.
Vlad became silent and a look of pure relief crossed his face, even if it were only for a short while, it had been there. Then he straightened up in his seat as a woman walked in. Esme sat silently as they held out a conversation, one verbally and a most obvious mental conversation of some sort.
Esme smiled at the woman when they were introduced and rose from her seat, offering Morgan her hand for a shake and then offering her a seat anywhere int he room. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Morgan had seen the relief flash across Vlad’s face, it amused her, though she was well schooled at hiding her facial emotions. “I am glad that I am not interrupting anything, I would hate to do such” She smiled sweetly and turned to the woman. “It is a pleasure to meet you as well Esme” Vlad had spoken briefly of the female the day before, but only a bit.
Laughter was in her eyes, but the only one who would be able to see it would have been Vlad, and the only reason for that would have been their years of knowing each other. She had never understood Vlad’s use for mortals, other then the obvious for him. She had very little use for mortals, other than the few and far between she’d cared for. Even with the questions she had she would never question Vlad in front of anyone, she’d not do that to any of the counsel.

He saw the laughter dancing in Morgan's eyes like flames danced upon a log in the fireplace and shook his head. Turning to his swan he said. "You must excuse Morgan's and my behavior but I fear she is teasing me in her own elegant way. Think of Morgan as my older sister who has just walked into a room to find me sitting very close to woman she has never before met."
He turned back to Morgan. "Now if you're quite finished?" The voice was stern but he could not keep the smile that turned the corners of his mouth. "I know I only spoke very briefly to you of Ms. Esme yesterday, but that was because I wished for her to speak for herself. I think you will find it refreshing to talk to one so young who speaks as well as she does."
Vlad had only said that he'd had a student that he'd like for Morgan to take under her wing. Everything else he would leave to his swan to explain, perfectly content to listen whilst she impressed Morgan as she had awed him.

Esme giggled quietly when Vlad had compared Morgan to an older sister of sorts. "Better to have an older sister who would rather tease you than an older brother who would prefer to keep you in a golden cage," Esme murmured drawing from her own life's experiences. Her brother was so protective of her that she could not think of a life without him, sometimes so to the point that she wished she had a sister who teased her constantly.
As Vlad told Morgan of how she would be happy to speak to Esme, she felt her cheeks get warm. She bit her lip in an attempt to hide her embarrassed smile.
"I know not what to say," Esme protested slightly, "I fear that if I tell her what I have already told you, Vlad, you will become quite bored. Besides, I feel as if I am not the most entertaining of people, therefore there's no reason for me to tell my story."

Morgan tried to hide the laughter better as Vlad commented on it. She realized that she did think of Vlad as a younger brother, the councel was her family now though some were more than others. Esme's mention of better an older sister than brother to keep you in a golden cage. It didn't seem something that one so young would do
Nodding when he asked if she was finished, "Forgive me Vlad, I have not seen you in this situation in many years and it brought back memories" She was intriged already by Esme's speach, and that Vlad would want her to speak to this woman. Esme must have impressed him for him to wish that. "It is not often that any mortal speaks well enough to impress you Vlad so I will take your word for it."
Listening to Esme speak more Morgan was intregred more. "Ms Esme, I would love to hear your story, boring or no it would be rather interesting I believe. You do not speak like anyone I've ever met outside of the councel."

A smile crossed his features at the mention of a brother protective enough to want to preserve Ms. Esme’s innocence for all of time. A golden cage for one so fragile, it was not a hard thing to see an older brother wanting. He might confess certain protectiveness for the girl himself, though better he guide her flight than to lock the sweet bird away. The blush that painted her pale cheeks only widened his smile.
“Be not afraid of boring me, dear swan, for I am content only to hear your voice.” A soft laugh escaped him at Morgan’s false apology. “Now, let’s have the truth my darling, you are enjoying this far more than even I could possibly hope to assume.”
Vlad turned back to Ms. Esme, some of the humor gone from his face. The girl truly was too modest, and admiral quality in a young woman of her age. To many flaunted what they possessed, an act that only lessened their beauty rather than displaying it. For what man wanted what was easily had? “Morgan speaks truth, my compliments aren’t frivolously given. Tell your story with the confidence that you bore no one.”

Esme sighed, she truly didn't like hearing her own voice, that was the main reason why she was so reluctant to tell her tale. Yet there was no chance of her backpedaling out of the conversation, the only thing she could do was tell her story.
She crossed her right leg over her left and turned in her seat, toward Morgan, "I suppose I can attempt to tell the story a little differently to keep Vlad entertained. Um," Esme said, attempting to begin her thought process. She was trying to determine what to tell and what not to, there were things you could share in new company and some things one could not, Esme was trying to determine the 'nots'.
"I suppose the best place to start is by explaining that I'm merely one in a long line of witches in my family. The magic supposedly skips a few generations, so I grew up being told stories about magic in the family, but told that it was ridiculous and that I shouldn't believe it.
"I had gone years not believing in magic, until one day there was a bit of an accident and I ended up saving someone's life in a way that couldn't be explained away in any other way than magic. I was so surprised by this that at first I started off thinking it was a fluke and began to wish it away. But it ended up being that there were times that I couldn't deny the truth that I had magic, the magic that I was told never truly existed.
"After a while I ended up trying to figure out what I truly could do. I ended up studying forms of magic that most witches would frown upon. I spent so much time reading books on Wiccan arts and learning from supposed witches here and there in Leeds. But I never learned what I wanted to.
"It wasn't until my parents offered me the opportunity to go the University to learn law that I truly felt like I could end up learning what I needed. Since then I've been going from one mentor to another, attempting to learn whatever I can about an art that seems to have been so greatly forgotten."
Esme laughed bitterly when she finished, "I fear I truly have bored you both with that. I wish I were an entertaining storyteller, like my brother. Sometimes I question how I was born into a family of such amazing lawyers when I fail so greatly at speaking."

He laughed. So modest was his swan, almost to a fault. She truly gave herself to little credit for the natural talents she possessed. How could she not find herself fascinating when she enthralled him so? “I was captured by the tale equally this time as the last you told it to me. Rest easy, sweet swan, bored I am not.”
He turned towards Morgan, eyes locked on his companion’s face as he waited for her reaction. Would the sorceress find this mortal as fascinating as he himself did? Surely the alternative would be near impossible. “You see now why I wished for your assistance, my friend. I think Ms. Esme would benefit greatly from having a solitary tutor rather than multitudes of them.” He did not ask directly but the unasked question hung in the air. Would she agree to take the girl under her wing?

Morgan listened to the two talk for a moment, silently listening. One of her greatest stregths was that she could listen better than most women, though she had to figure that came with over 900 years of life. She watched and listened to Esme. "Oh dear, you will never learn if you keep bouncing from mentor to mentor, you need to find one to stick with, I would be most pleased if I were the one to mentor you dear one."
She smiled at Esme and shook her head, "You did not bore me at all. After so many years on this earth, it is quite hard to bore me actually." she was sure it was possible, in fact she had been bored when someone decided to corner her about her brother many years ago. She hated all the theories that Arthur was not as truely caring as he was. Just because he was involved in a war in his time. He was a king he had to lead his people. Shaking her head slightly she turned her gaze to Vlad.
"I see very well why you wished for it, and she would benifit greatly, though I believe if I take her under my wing I should have Jonas speak with her as well. I am very well schooled, but even I am not as well schooled as Jonas" Morgan sighed softly it wasn't jealously or envy but she wished she knew the things Jonas did. "I will accept her as my student if she wishes to learn from a very old woman"
