Esme nodded knowingly, "I understood, and still do, that it's not the greatest idea to skip around from person to person like I had, but I had constantly come across people who would attempt to lead me astray. The better mentors were closely related to my family, old family friends from my great-grandmother's time, having them so close to my family made it harder to keep it a secret from my parents."
Esme smiled widely when Morgan said she'd be her mentor, Esme knew there was much she needed to learn, and hopefully Morgan would be able to teach her. But what really surprised her was when she mentioned that perhaps she would introduce her to Jonas. She looked inquisitively at Vlad, hoping for a nod of consent, something that proved she hadn't made up that part of the conversation.
"I don't think you are old, you may be older than I, but you do not look as if you'd be as old as you are. But I'd appreciate it so much if you would teach me as much as possible. Thank you."

A smile turned up the corners of his mouth as Morgan agreed to mentor his swan. It was the beginning of a good companionship, that much he knew for certain. Esme would make a priceless ally as someone who was involved in normal human society where the members of the council tended to draw unwanted attention.
The idea of introducing Esme to Jonas was one he liked. It had crossed his mind but he had guessed that Jonas' schedule would be full in the days to come, perhaps to full to mentor a young witch. He nodded when Esme looked to him, though perhaps they should prepare the girl for the presence the warlock held. "Wise as ever, my dear Morgan." Turning to Esme he added. "Though Jonas can be rather intimidating on a first meeting, I speak from experience."
He stayed silent, though it was impossible to hide the happiness he felt over the prospect of both Morgan having a student and having that student be his beautiful swan. He would let them talk out the details of where Esme would live, and the times for lessons. As her mentor, it was only right that Morgan should bring such things to Esme's attention.

Morgan smiled at them both before focusing on Esme "Well I don't know your family, and I am far more schooled than those that would. So if you wish it to be a secret that is fine. The one thing I do ask, is that you spend time at our home. In fact it may be best for you to take up resedence there. If you wouldn't mind that." She smiled and noticed the girl look to Vlad at Morgan's mention of Jonas. She smiled to herself, she'd forgotten for a moment that Jonas could be a bit intimidating to those who knew of him but didn't know him. "It is my pleasure Esme dear, I have been long without a student, one tends to miss it"
She turned to Vlad when he spoke "I have never found Jonas' intimidating though I would try and ignore if he mutters to himself. In fact I normally do." She smiled again "And I would never let my student go into a meeting with Jonas without me, I believe that would make it easier as well." She glanced at the two of them waiting for their thoughts on the conversation.

Esme nodded when Morgan mentioned that she didn't know of her family. It was only when Morgan had asked if she was okay with staying with the Council did she actually respond verbally, "Of course I'll stay with the council, the only thing is I'll probably need to keep my apartment to keep up the guise that I'm living there. Perhaps visit when my parents to stop in town."
Esme was slightly surprised when Vlad mentioned that Jonas could be intimidating. Esme had been lost in a fantasy world that the entire Council was all smiles andkind words that she forgot that they might not all be as kind as chivalrous as Vlad or as nice and likeable as Morgan. Perhaps Judas and Jonas were the most foul tempered people in the group, or perhaps they were much nicer. But the only thing that Esme truly knew was that Vlad thought he was intimidating and Morgan didn't, but wouldn't leave her alone with him. Esme had mixed emotions about meeting him now, excited to formulate her own opinions, and scared that he may be just like Vlad had described him.
Esme nodded, she couldn't quite think of what to say about this, so she resorted to the only thing she seemingly ever knew to say, "Thank you so much."

A smirk lit the masculine features of the vampire's face. "Tis true. Perhaps intimidating was not the correct word. I meant only that he is well, how shall I say this....an impressive presence. It is also possible that I am basing that solely on my own first encounter with him which is perhaps not the best experience to derive an opinion from. The circumstances in the case of Ms. Esme are far different." The warlock had first appeared while Vlad had been attempting to lure a young woman away from the public eye. It was probable that Jonas had needed to be impressive to be heard through the bloodlust.
He nodded when Morgan said that she would not be leaving the girl alone with Jonas. He agreed that it was a good idea. He was not worried in the least that the warlock would harm the girl, in fact he feared for nearly the exact opposite. "I think that will be for the best."
The smirk transformed into a smile. It would be good to have his swan residing within the manor's halls, safe under their watchful eyes. "By all means you should keep your apartment, then. It wouldn't do for you to make your parents suspicious. Wise as ever, my swan."
He nodded at her thanks. It surprised him still how polite she was for someone so young. Esme acted as if she were someone who had been raised with court manners as both he and Morgan had. It was people like her that made him think that perhaps reincarnation was more possible than it sounded.
