Here at Hope In Chains, humans are just plain old humans. They generally are not aware of the supernatural world.
Some humans have mild supernatural abilities, like they can sense ghosts, or at lease feel the change in the air and the sense that someone is watching them.
Psychic Abilities
Humans with psychic abilities are more often than not dismissed as frauds and are, very rare. many though, have gifts but do not even know it, and in turn do not train and strengthen their gift
The word psychic relates to the mind or soul, rather than the physical and physiological. It`s commonly used when referring to the paranormal, occult or supernatural. Those who have extraordinary powers, use the word to describe their abilities. It is very hard to indeed test a person to see if their claims are true, and they are in fact psychic.
Different individuals explain how they have acquired their powers in different ways. Some are born with them, some attribute them to a traumatic experience, and others develop them through training. Some believe that everyone is capable of developing their psychic powers.
The most common psychic powers are:
Telepathy - Telepathy is the ability to read thoughts. It`s most common between close friends or family.
Empathy - Similar to telepathy but revolves around emotions instead of thoughts. Empathic ability can manifest in sending, receiving or both.
Psychometry - The ability to pick up images, histories, and impressions from objects and places. By holding the object you sees or sense information about the owner or most frequent user.
Clairvoyance - The ability to see things that are not seen with the physical eyes. Can see visions of things occurring in the present.
Precognition - The ability to sense, see, or hear things that may happen in the future. Sometimes this manifests in dreams, visions, flashes or simply by just knowing.
Retrocogniton - The ability to see, sense, or hear things that happened in the past.
Telekinesis - Often called remote influencing. The ability to move object with the mind. Poltergeist activity is often claimed to be unintentional telekinesis by children going through puberty.
Channelling - The ability to see, hear, and communicate with non-corporeal beings.
