Character Name: Vlad Tepes
Species: Vampire
Age, Gender: 577, turned at 26, male
Description: Vlad is 6' even and has a very masculine, muscular build that one would expect from the warrior he once was. Very dark brown hair falls in soft waves to brush the tops of his shoulders. A light mustache and small tuft of beard adorns his pale face. His eyes are a brown that against all odds manages to smolder, both inviting and dangerous.
He can often be found in suits and other clothing that one would expect to see on English gentlemen in the 1800's. Vlad is fond of top hats and has been known to carry a cane on occasion. He also wears small, round dark glasses to hide his unnatural smoldering eyes. The top hat and sunglasses also aid him in withstanding sunlight.
Personality: Vlad is a passionate man, nothing he does could ever be considered half hearted. He can come across as arrogant and his temper has earned him a reputation as being somewhat hot headed. He is a private man who plays everything close to the chest. He is a proper gentleman on most occasions and speaks like he belongs in a turn of the century novel instead of today's modern world. Vlad is a casual flirt, though his heart will always belong to his beloved, departed wife.
History: When Vlad was 26 and still human, he fought for his kingdom against Turkish invaders. The Turks sent his beloved wife a false notice of Vlad's death and she committed suicide, unable to live without her love. When Vlad returned home victorious, he discovered his beloved dead upon the floor of his chapel. Distraught and blinded by rage at the thought of his wife being damned as a suicide, Vlad desecrated the chapel and swore that he would rise from the grave to avenge his wife with all the powers of darkness. He became a vampire, and did just that.
Centuries later, Vlad swore off taking human life to sustain himself and befriended a man by the name of Jonas who was countless years older than himself and understood the burden of eternity that they both carried. They shared a common compassion for human life, Vlad because of his eternal love for his departed wife and Jonas because he had once been human himself.
During the Second World War, Jonas contacted him and six others like them. They met and decided that humanity was not ready for the knowledge of the existence of the supernatural, vowing to keep their existence hidden from the human world. They formed The Council and helped to end the World War to stop humanity from tearing itself apart.
They allied themselves shortly after with a human organization who called themselves The Fifth who shared their goal of keeping everything not human hidden from the mass of civilization. The alliance is a rocky one that threatens to shatter at any moment but so far it has held.
Vlad is the man behind the myth of Dracula and has willing donors to feed him each night.
Family/Ties: The Council.
Powers/ Training/ Experience: The inhanced speed, strength and senses of an ancient, powerful vampire and the knowledge of centuries to guide him. He can fly and change shape into that of a large, black wolf and can also take on the shape of a bat. Vlad has a strong power of mind control and telepathy. He is skilled with a blade, javelin and shield.
Weaknesses: He easily can withstand the sunlight though his abilities and powers are weakened. A stake through the heart and his head being cut off and his body burned.
RP Sample:
The scents, sights and sounds surrounded him as they could only one with his level of awareness. Each color was more vibrant, each movement more slow and defined. He could pick out the scent of each person in the crowd, the delicious perfume of their skin and hair. Every sound was clear, singular and pronounced. He envied the humans many things, but the way he saw the world was not one of them.
A part of him longed to share this with them, the human masses. To describe to them how much more detail there was to the world than their eyes could detect. It was a small part, a feeble voice whispering within the caverns of his mind. He knew with unwavering certainty that the human realm was better, happier thinking that things such as him did not exist. Panic would surely follow such knowledge and society would crumble.
So he walked, small smile turning the delicate corners of his mouth, and hummed a tune to himself as he walked through the blissfully ignorant crowd.
