Character Name:
ophelia o'neil
Species:
human
Age, Gender:
nineteen, female
Description:she's incredibly gorgeous? But, really, Ophelia is the kind of person that knows she's pretty but she's not someone who will proclaim it to the world. So, even if her blonde hair is naturally wavy and her skin is flawless most of the time, she won't go bragging on and on about herself. If she were to do that, people would surely start picking on her size, she's a little muscular for her height, five foot one inch, but not over weight. Her skin is flawless because she doesn't pick at zits, doesn't touch her face with her hands, and keeps her hair clean and free of styling gel. Her clothes are most likely what she thinks is comfortable and usually her style. She'll wear converse, shorts, a white long sleeve and her hair up depending if it's hot and she's feeling a tad cold. Her style varies from those work out clothes or basically anything comfortable. Yes, she does find dresses and skirts comfortable, but she hardly wears them.
Personality:
If she were go to a social gathering, she'll stand there, trailing behind a friend or her mom. You could see her sitting at a table, arms crossed out of nervousness or maybe she'll be playing with a strand of her hair. Either way, there is a slight chance that she'll actually walk up to you and say hello. Sure, she'll gather up enough courage to actually go up and introduce herself, if she really likes you, but after a few moments when the conversation gets awkward, Ophelia will stand there, trying to think of what to say. Ophelia has tried to break out of his habit of hers, but it's just no use. And because of this most people think she's snobby and stuck up.
Even though she's shy and looks anti social doesn't mean the girl is a bitch, she's quite nice actually. So, if you randomly bump into her at the mall or in the street, she'll usually apologize and say it was her fault. But, because she's shy, she doesn't know a lot of people and people these days judge as soon as they look at you, so they assume that she doesn't want to talk to anyone, they're wrong. If she was outgoing and spontaneous, she would probably have a circle of friends yet only a few good ones that she can actually trust, but as i stated above, her shyness doesn't let her do that. And with the niceness comes honesty. This girl will tell you how it is, even if it means hurting your feelings. For example, say your hair is just hideous that day, Ophelia will tell you nicely. This honesty can get her in trouble and start drama, but would you want a liar as your friend? I know I wouldn't.
We all have certain traits that set people off, well bitterness and dry sarcasm are a few of Ophelia's traits that do, in fact, rub people the wrong way. Yes, you can get to know the girl but when it comes to certain things, such as certain people or what she thinks about the community, she'll give you the cold shoulder and probably make up some witty remark that will set you in a bad mood. It's not like Ophelia tries to be this way, most of the time you actually have to tell her she's acting this way, she doesn't notice it. And these traits seem to rub most people the wrong way causing Ophelia regret. Go ahead and be brutally honest with Ophelia, the girl takes it more as a constructive criticism, yet if it's about her looks or her personality, she'll just shrug it off and keep on going, as if nothing happened at all.
History:
When Ophelia was six, her parents had to sell the house, resulting in them moving in with her dad's mother. Sure, that went well for maybe a little over a year, but when her dad's brother moved in, complaining over and over that he couldn't keep a job, her dad got sick of it and told his mom that they were looking at houses and expected to move out in a few months. Little Ophelia created a strong bond with her 'Nana' in that time, making another heartbreak for the kid when they actually moved into their new house, more like apartment. Her parents didn't seem to mind, but her brother, william, did. Since they had moved into that cramped apartment, William decided to act out, resulting her parents giving him a stern wag of the finger and a grounding. Hey, a six year old can't complain and act out as her brother did, but Ophelia didn't like it, though it seemed a tad bigger since she was just a little girl.
A few or so years later, Ophelia was nine, her dad got a new job which in turn earned the family more money, yet her dad had to travel to different locations. Sure, it was alright, having no father, for a few months, but with her on the verge of losing her job and her brother acting out, Ophelia found that she was alone, even at school. Ophelia gained a new trait that year, a trait that was cute but at the same time, it was awful. She learned how to be shy, like she gained it over night. Her two friends at school noticed her lack of interest in things, probably because she was too shy to do them, and slowly lost interest in her but Ophelia was too preoccupied with making paper snowflakes to notice. That was until her tenth birthday rolled around. Her mother, of course, noticed that she wasn't going out anymore like she used to and kept quiet when she asked Ophelia who she wanted to invite to the party.
In her teenage years, Ophelia felt detached from her family. She avoided talking to her parents at all costs and even avoided her Nana. Things were quite moody and Ophelia took it the wrong way. When they found out, they were a little shocked, I mean, their usually enjoyable daughter struggled with depression which the doctor gave her medication. A year later, now in her sophomore year, Ophelia began struggling with her social life. Countless times had she tried to get out of her, shy and awkward, shell, yet every time she did, she made a fool of herself. She stuttered and ran out of things to say and made confrontations awkward and pretty soon, the sixteen year old just gave up - she decided it was better on her own even if she felt horribly uncomfortable.
Since then, the O'Neil family found they had to move again, this time for her father's job, not because of finance problems. Ophelia hadn't heard of this news until she got home from her Nana's, apparently the old woman had been keeping it from her. The seventeen year old had been in a good mood when she got home to the cramped apartment, only to find her parents sitting at the table, turning their heads and looking at her when her and the old lady opened the door. When they finally told her that they would most likely be moving, she wore a firm frown and glared heavily at the three people in front of her. Fine. Was all she said before she turned around and exited the apartment.
So, they packed up the apartment and were on their way and ophelia admitted to herself that it was a good feeling to get away from her hometown. The drive was long and boring, with the occasional complaint from Ophelia. So, when they got to the new house, Ophelia was the first one out of the car and already looking around the neighborhood, not bothering telling her parents where she was going or when she was going to be back. Needless to say, two turns and probably three blocks away, she got lost and it started getting dark. Now, Ophelia isn't one to freak out, but she is one who will get scared easily and since it was dark out, she started freaking out. Let's just say, she spent a good hour trying to get back home.
Things didn't start picking up until she figured out what she wanted to do a year later, start acting. It was her dream and her passion, therefore, she wouldn't settle down and quit before she got what she wanted. Sure, she didn't have a job yet and didn't know where or how to start, so she turned to someone who gave birth to her; her mother. Now, her mother was a nice lady whom would do anything for her daughter, even watch her act.

She nodded, knowing she had to agree with him on that one. He tended to use hurtful words to those who were aggravating him or if he was in a bad mood and sadly, she sometimes was the victim of it all. "Yeah, you sure do have a way with words Liam and you use big words that most of us don't know the meaning to. " She explained to the nineteen year old. At that last part, she chuckled, a light smile spreading on her dainty pink lips, "Oh yeah, I'm sure you'll do a lot of damage." And with that, fully knowing that the guy disliked it and was ticklish, she poked him in the side, a grin lighting up her face once again. "But you are no match for my fingers of death. Just one poke, and I win." See, it wasn't that hard to understand. Ophelia was one of those people who loved to mess with her friends, even strangers in some cases, and annoy the hell out of them, even if it meant being yelled at. And just then, the mental image of her poking him and him getting sick of her ways. Retreating her finger and poking no more, she frowned, no; she didn't want Liam to get sick of her when she was usually quite a peaceful person. Sure, the girl will annoy and bother the other members of Horseplay, but Liam was her best friend, her best buddy, someone that she's been talking to for how many years? And Ophelia knew her limits, fully knowing that one incident almost a year and a half ago, where she was just getting to know the guys and was awfully shy.
She sighed again, not quite understanding what he meant. Was he referring to the band Slash or actually the slash from the fan fiction sites? Eck, not something good to think about, slightly disgusted with how fans reacted to certain situations. It's not like she didn't know creepy it felt to have love stories, basically porn, written about you. Sure, there was those occasional stories written about her and someone else, but she didn't see them quite often but, she really didn't want to know though. It must have made them feel absolutely terrified. I mean, some fans were alright, but the ones who called themselves a bands number one fan and basically have an obsession over one, or all, of the members. Sure, there were mild crushes and little spastic moments, but did they really have to talk about how much they would want to 'shag' them and how they had steamy dreams about them – it was quite disturbing to hear the guys complain about it. So, instead of asking him what he meant, she decided to shrug the question off and continue to dig dirt from her nail. But, she paused when he started talking once again, in fact, he was right that some great musicians were still alive today, even if they were almost a hundred years old. "Wow Liam, that's some goal you have. Wait … have you ever had fangirlies in your shower?" She furrowed her brow, her forehead and nose wrinkling a bit. Really, it was sort of creepy knowing that with one slip up from the guards, the guys could be attacked by rabid fans – their mouths bubbling with foam and only one thing set within their eyes; to take one of the guys for themselves. And with that, a shiver ran down her back. Grinning, she made sure that she was comfortable and started stroking Hobo. "Yay me."
She was about to say something, her mouth already open, when a ring shrilled the silence, making her jump which in turn made Hobo jump off of her and back onto Liam. Sitting up, she bent over Liam and snatched her sidekick from the floor. At first, she didn't recognize the number, but after a few seconds, she smiled and answered, "Hello?" With a brief pause, she waited for the person to answer her. "Oh, hey Mike. What did I do to deserve this call from an awesomely awesome friend?" And with in another pause, she took her hair out of her bun and started playing with the scrunchy, flexing it with her fingers. "Hardy har har, very funny. I'll call ya later, tootles." She giggled, pushing the end button and laid herself back down, a soft sigh escaped her mouth. Mike Adkins, the guy who she, gracefully, bumped into. Sure, she would usually apologize and shy away, but when he started talking to her, something must have clicked in her mind because they had exchanged numbers and talked to each other almost daily. I guess she decided that it was time for her to break out and reach out to people instead of shying away at every open door.
