India Oasis Character Name: India Sinead Oasis
Species: Human
Age, Gender: Eighteen, Female
Description: India's head is covered with beautiful chestnut locks of hair. It has a natural loose curl to it but she sometimes straightens it. She always has make-up on and is very obbsessed with her appearence. When in the sun India tends to burn easily because of her fair skin. But when only in the cun a little, small freckles cover the bridge of her nose.
India's style isn't something you could call normal. She loves bright, neon colors. Which is obviously why she hates school uniform. But all in all her fashion ranges as she likes her short skirts and shorts. But all-so jeans and trousers. Also from bikini tops to thick jumpers. eally she wears whatever she feels like to be quite frank. But that's her was of dressing and she loves it.
Accessories, accessories, accessories. A word that seems to fill India's head. Beads. How she loves beads. But can you blame her? What's an outfit without a necklance or some beads? It's just not complete in India's eyes. Bangles are another main part to Jemma's world. Sometime, in slightly over-active outfits she will fill her arms with think ones and thin ones and ny other type of bangles you can think of.
India always had the figure of a possible ballerina. Dainty, little and light. Her frame is almost unheathily small. But India is, as it seems from first glaces, unhealthy. She has been anorexic and suffering for three years now. And sometimes refuses to eat incase she gets fat.
Personality: General Character Traits: opinionated India is the type of person that you either love or hate. She has a very distinct personality, and she does not, and refuses not to, change it for anyone. She knows that is not something that many can say, and she is proud to say it. She is not afraid to speak her mind, and she will always let people know what she is thinking and states her opinion on every subject that comes up. She doesn't think about things before she says them, and she often hurts peoples feelings with her words.
gossip queen If it's your business, it's India's, as far as she is concerned. She is the gossip queen; She knows exactly what is going on in everyone's lives at every second, sometimes before they even know it themselves. She starts rumors for fun, finding joy in the drama and pain in causes some people, as long as it isn't her. She absolutely loves making other people's lives complete misery. Once something is started, she'll instigate nonstop until the other person ends up in tears.
pregnant dogy Usually, upon first meeting someone, you give them a chance to have a civilized conversation with you before you decide whether or not you hate them. With India, that is far from true. She's pregnant dogy to everyone she doesn't know, even upon meeting them for the first time. To her, it's her little way of initiation. If they can deal with her attitude when they first meet her and still come back to try and be friends, they're worth befriending. Anyone else isn't worth her time.
very *friendly* person In every school there's that one girl, or group of girls, that everyone recognizes as the school very *friendly* person. The one who's never been able to keep a boyfriend for more than a month, and screwed half of them before they broke up. The girl who lost her virginity before she became a teenager. India is one of those few girls with said reputation. She's extremely interested in the opposite sex, and it's said she'll flirt with anything in pants.
spastic If you first met India while on one of her hyper moments, you'd think she'd just had a six pack of red bull and ran the local Starbucks out of business. She's always jumping around and screaming, even when there's no cause for it. She's the girl that will randomly scream in the middle of a silent room just because she can. She's extremely loud, and she almost never shuts up. If anyone tells her to, she'll just yell louder.
partier;; If there is one thing India knows how to do other than sleeping around, is partying. She can throw back alcohol like it was water, and she swears she was born to dance. She is usually the life of any party that she attends. Once you have this girl drunk, there is no telling what fun times will occur, from dancing on tables, to running around in nothing but a curtian. This girl has done it all, and will probably do it all again.
hot-tempered ;; A lot of people just let things that have upset them go, but India isn't one of them. She isn't one to take things sitting down. If you've offended her or made her mad in any way, she makes sure you know it. She isn't afraid to make a scene in a public place, or scream at you if you're older than she is. The phrase 'respect your elders' means absolutely nothing to her; She gives as much respect as she gets.
oblivious ;; India is very ignorant to the world around her. She's the type of person who you'd expect to walk into the middle of a crowded street and not even notice that an eighteen wheeler was headed her way until it started beeping like crazy. Some people mistake her ignorance for stupidity, but she is definitely not stupid. She just never pays attention, and that gets her into a lot of trouble at times.
judgmental ;; Like most people, India has the nasty habit of judging people before she gets to know them. If you happened to give her a bad first impression, it will be the one that sticks with her forever. She's a 'you have one shot to get on my good side' kind of girl.
History: India's birth place was in the county of Devon in England. The household demanded that order was kept and her father was a very strong perfectionist and control freak and a famous elemental judge. Her mother on the other hand was a paranoid, and rather irrational and over protective of her art but cared little for her children who were nothing less of status symbols. She works as an artist and has some pieces in the Tate Modern. India and her twin Masie were brought up in a secure nest where the dark world was hidden to them. Masie, the more docile of the twins was happy to accept this but India, who was the opposite of her twin desired more. She slowly tried to look beyond the walls of their opulent and ostentatious house that was the picture of class. Although her mother was an artist, she seemed to have a very limited picture of the world. Masie was very much like her father and was sophisticated and not in the least bit curious. India on the other hand believed there was more to life than court cases and making money off cheap looking art works.
She was sent to an opulent, scruffy school as a sort of, 'please forgive me for not taking interest in your life. There she began to cause a lot of trouble and teachers resorted to yelling at her and deliberately humiliating her in front of the whole class instead of looking deeper into her misbehavior. Slowly she grew an inferiority complex and she became very quiet. Her and her twin drifted apart and it became as if they're weren't related or even friends. Her parents pulled her out of the expensive school when she stopped working and put her in an even cheaper school. Her she gained some of her dignity back as she was mainly ignored by the teachers. No one sought out to humiliate her nor did she cause any trouble. She slowly began to work and got good grades. Her parents did not bother acknowledging her new achievements and rather focused on Masie who was the dux scholar and showed great promise of being a politician.
Slowly India drew away from her family and started mixing with people older than her. They were not a good influence on her and when it came down to things, they took advantage of her and her innocence and she became very callous and difficult at the age of eight. She began to feel as though her parents ignored her because she did something wrong. She slowly began to blame herself for the things that happened and became more withdrawn and gave up on having friends altogether. Instead she threw herself into school work and became a very hard working pupil. She was determined to show her parents that she could in fact do well. The teachers began to notice her artistic abilities and that was something India did not want to develop because she wanted nothing to do with her parents.
In her isolation India no longer had any people skills. Her parents sent her off to go live with her eccentric Grandmother in Africa, because she had become a shame to the family name. In her Grandmother's care India slowly came out of her shell again. Her grandmother was very similar to her and showed her that it was ok to be different. She slowly began to heal and felt as though she was going to be alright.

"I'll start worrying about the NEWTS once they are closer."
Jemma giggled in her girly manner. The fact was, her laugh wasn't as annoying as the girly girls you met in the raenclaw common room who were always on about boys and aparently 'girly' stuff. Jemma rolled her eyes at the thought. How she hated some of those girls. They were just so annoying when you were trying to get in some last miniute homework. Yeah, all Jemma's homework was last in. But then again she was always the last of the Ravenclaw's to understand the work in class. Jemma was almost certain that the Sorting Hat must not have read her right. But then again... Someone has to be the worst in Ravenclaw don't they? "I suppose you right there." She chuckled "I'd need to start revising at the start of the year if I wanted a chance to pass the NEWT's." She sighed but kept the bright smile on her face. "Got any idea where your going after Hogwarts? What type of job?" She asked interestedly.
"Quidditch isn't my sport. Don't get me wrong I would love to go out and aim a bludger at some Slytherins heads but I didn't."
Jemma nodded vigerously "I'm just glad I have that advantage. It just makes me so happy when they have to bring subs on because they've cracked their heads open or something." Jemma knew it sounded a little too leathal but thats literally how she flt about slytherins. She wasn't going to let them take the quidditch cup again. Not this year. Not when she, Jemma Kendall, was captain. She hoped one day to have her name in the captain spot on one of those large quidditch shields in the trophy room.
"Well hopefully Slytherin will get beat by Gryffindor enough that we will have a chance at the cup. And win or lose Slytherin will still be below us."
Jemma smiled at his postitivity. "Yeah. Your right." She thought to herself. What would it be like to win the up. Lifting it. How amazing. But no time for day-dreams. She was talking to a person she hardly knew. She didn't want to make any bad impressions. So smiling to herself she placed the bludger on the ground and placed the bat on top of it. Making the bludger believe Jemma still had a firm grip on it's shiny black coat. She sat down next to it and stretched her legs over the beautiful grass. She looked at Mark and pushed her head in the way of asking him to sit next to her on the Hogwarts lawns.
---------------------------------------------
The sound of music drifted down the enormous, empty hallways of the house, notes flowing together to create an entrancing and rather sorrowful tune. You could almost see the notes hanging in the still air, leading you off down the corridor to a simple looking bedroom door. She came here when she wanted to be alone, this floor of the house tending to be much more deserted than others, of course you'd get the occasional person nipping up to the bathrooms, so no-one really ended up sneaking up on her while she was hiding away with the piano. For someone as outgoing and confident as India she was rather shy about her singing. She had an terrible voice, but singing was as pastime where she could feel herself repenting, it was just that music was what kept her company when she was feeling a little down, and when she was down she always isolated herself. If someone were to listen to her it would be as if they were invading her privacy.
She was singing to herself softly as she played, tangerine nails a bright contrast to the monocrome keys. She was singing 'Miricle' by Cascada, having fallen in love with clubland music the first time she had heard it blaring out from a box in the make-up parlour. Her homework laid abandoned by the piano, India having given up on it before she had even started. She would bully someone else into doing it for her later. She wasn't in the mood for education right now, and she had no idea what had made her feel like this. Maybe she just needed to remove herself from the hustle and bustle of the house below that was full of servants and such and spend a little time alone doing what she wanted to do? Yes, that would be her excuse for disappearing, she needed some India time.
