Like her family Cali has naturally red hair and brown eyes, her eyes have a streak of red. Her hair changes when she wants it to. Cali likes to experiment with it. From Straight to waves to curls. From dark brown to deep red. You name it and she generally has her hair different. However never going light to blonde.
With her make~up, Cali only puts a lot on if going out on the town. She wears no foundation usually as her skin is in good condition. She likes to accessorise with different everything. She has a ton of bags and shoes that she could probably open a store with! Cali can't help it if there are a cute pair of shoes that call out to her... it's not her fault, is it?
Cali has the family heart shaped face, including a beauty spot on the right side of her face it is smaller than her mothers, barely visible when she has not got a tan. When she's ill or just can't be bothered she usually is in a vest top and joggy bottoms. And of course her Ugg boots. She works out with her brother, which is a good motivator for her. Cali has clear skin and generally gets spots when she's stressed or she forgot to take her make~up off from the night before! Cali tans very well. She is paler naturally than her other family, but she gets colour easily and keeps it for a longer time than usual. Cali wears clothes she is comfortable in, however likes to jazz everything up and make them her own.
Cali likes simple clothes like jeans and a vest top. She generally looks better than her brother, but who doesn't in her opinion! Cali likes good fitting clothes and spending her money on what she likes. However this could be just as simple as jeans and a vest top. However lately Cali hasn't had time to buy things, she has been trying to customize her clothes and even starting to make her own. She likes trying out the different clothes and putting designs together. Plus she makes clothes to size, which means they always fit her.
Personality:
Cali is a rebel. She is both colorful and unpredictable. Her energy and love of life are stimulating.She loves being the center of attention and never goes unnoticed. Cali is impatient and always look for action. Speaking her mind when upset and has a suspicious nature.
But in spite of her quick tempers, she is sincere, generous and very affectionate. Cali also possesses a great sense of humor. She likes people, involvement,and dedication to humanitarian causes. Always one to seek out adventures, and at certain points in her life, she'll be very rebellious. Cali has to act out some of her ideals and lash out at the wrongs of society. Cali is so daring that she can acquire many admirers. Those who disapprove of what Cali does still will secretly admire her for her actions.
When Cali is injured she demands all-out sympathy. Logic does not appeal to her. She just wants to be comforted. Always willing to listen sincerely to the advice you give, and then she'll do exactly as she pleases. Since she has a lot of spunk, no matter how down and out Cali gets, she'll never give up. The Reed family once had the ability to shapeshift into the fabled phoenix bird and could recreate the abilities of this great bird, however through the centuries the mixing of different species of shapeshifter, caused this grand ability to devolve into shapshifting into an eagle. However this never stopped the want for a Phoenix shapeshifter to be born once again. With this in mind, Cali's fate was sealed before she was even born, she would be different from her family.
Her mother, Melissa, an eagle shapeshifter, a good woman in her community in Scotland, found out that her son, Robert, was dying of a mysterious illness. Her husband, Daniel, who too a bird shifter, told her he'd make a deal, his shapeshifting ability for the boy's life. However when calling a powerful shapeshifter named Teivel, who was too a descendant of the phoenix shapeshifters. Daniel was told that Teivel wanted something else, a child with the shapeshifting abilities of one of their ancestors, the ability to shapeshift into a phoenix bird. Daniel went back to his wife to tell her that no deal had been made. However he didn't make it home, Teivel made sure he didn't get home. Teivel made contact with Melissa and told her that before he died, Daniel had already made the deal. However the deal Teivel told her was that in order for Robert to live, he was allow to sleep with Melissa for one night. Unknown to Melissa a night with a fire demon would recreate the phoenix blood line in her family.
Teivel told Melissa that once the baby was born, she would be taken away and live with him, however, this did not happen, as because of another deal, Teivel simply disappeared from the world, Melissa assumed he had been killed, and was glad of this, now her family could try and rebuild after her husbands death. This was not to be the case, as when Cali was seven her mother died in as a result of crossfire between two supernatural beings. Cali never learned who or why there was a fight, she doesn't want to know.
After this happened Cali was set to live with her named guardian's along with her brother, a nun named Mary Joy. Growing up, Cali was a handful. The sisters' cross to bare. She would sneak out, and go drinking or flying. She didn't care, she had no living family after her brother left a few years before. Cali soon found out the truth, she was out in the grounds of the house down from the church, when two sisters were talking, they were talking about Robert, Cali's brother and how he was on the trail of Teivel. Cali asked her legal guardian, sister Mary Joy about it all and she came clean, not wanting to lie to the girl. She gave her a letter written by her mother which explained everything, almost. Cali found it difficult to learn the real reason she had the abilities of the phoenix, when her mother was a simple eagle shifter. She didn't know how to handle it, so she spoke to Mary again. All didn't go well, Sister Mary told Cali that she was an evil being as Teivel was evil and her birth father. She said many true things and Cali got angry, so went out. When she returned to Sister Mary was raging, she tried to discipline Cali, but it never happened. Cali got even more angry, and in her drunk rage, she turned into her phoenix form to fly away, however as she left, shrieking, she left Mary Joy deaf for a few hours. Because Mary Joy couldn't hear, she never heard the fire alarm in the house go off as she slept in her bed, and died in the fire. When Cali returned she ran into the housing but found her only motherly figure, dead. Cali was distraught, and soon her brother came back to help her get through it and handle the extra abilities she had when she was in her phoenix form.
Soon Cali broke away from her brother as he travelled Scotland and came to England in hopes to escape her past and to right the wrongs she and her father had done. Cali got in contact with Mary Joy's brother, a member of the Vatican and he asked her to stay in the city and maybe to help those that need assistance there. She hasn't gotten a perminate job as she and her brother can live from their parents inheritance.
Powers/Training/Experience/weaknesses
Like most shapeshifters, Cali has the abilities of enhanced senses and agility; they are stronger, fitter and faster than humans.
Also Cali has the bonus of shapeshifting into a Phoenix. This is a large bird with a tail of beautiful gold and red plumage. Unlike the actual birds, who live for a 1,00 years, Cali will only live to be slightly older than normal humans. She can with stand fire around her, especially in bird form.
She is not invinsible like the birds, however can regenerate quickly and can heal others with her tears, however only when in phoenix bird form. She is far from invinsible, she can be revived after death, only if she has time to shift into Phoenix form and when she is alive once again, she has temporary memory loss and will only remember things from her last birthday for about 24 hours.
When she is in Phoenix form Cali also can shriek to the point that anything around it can't hear clearly for a few hours. When not in Phoenix form, she has a beautiful singing voice.
Cali is afraid of open water, and when in her human state, will not go swimming.

Cali stood and looked up at the large ominous doors infront of her. They stood out considering the state of the rest of the building that held up the doors. In fact, it seemed at looking over everything, that the door held up the building. The sturdy wooden doors, held in place by three massive hinges on each side just screamed 'kick me open'. Cali, always one for an entrance, turned and stretched out her leg so her foot connected with the door, sending the wooden planks barrelling into the empty warehouse.
Cali stepped into the warehouse, following the carpet of setting sun light, that was created by the now opened door. She placed her hands on her hips and looked about, it was dark, dank and smelled really badly. It was worse than that frat house she'd seen when visiting a college not too long ago. Moving slowly forward, Cali called out for anyone who was in the warehouse to identify themselves.
Cali had been sent to this place to find out why a sudden rise in supernatural activity had happened. Generally she wasn't the person for these kind of jobs, a member of the Fifth would go, however she had been here before, well, kind of. Her past self had been here, it was a long time ago and the place had certainly changed. The warehouse was once a hive of activity, now it was derelict, breeding ground for lower evils, vampires for example.
Cali started to look about the place, but there was nothing there, an entrance spoiled on moths and mice. She headed back out in time to see the sun set over a sand dune horizon. The sky was a rich red and yellow colour with hints of dark blue creeping over it, commanding the sun to set so the moon could shine. Cali felt drawn to the sun, always had, probably the whole fire thing, regeneration and all. She headed back to the car waiting for her by the dirt track.
The jeep wasn't really her idea, Cali could move quickly and easily through other means, but never mind. She threw her things in the back seat and got into the drivers side, ready to report back that this trip had been a giant waste of her time! maybe next time.
