Though their origins unknown, many accept that the first group of Were-wolves came from Ircània, a region in ancient Persia, south-east to the Caspian Sea. How and why, no one knows, not yet any way. The numbers of Were-wolves in the world varies over century; the height of their strength in numbers was during the sixteenth and seventeenth century. During these two hundred years Were-wolf attacks were plentiful, and caused man kind to hunt and fear Wolves, stripping Europe of native wolves. Were-wolves must not be confused with shape-shifters. (See separate species section)
Were-wolves do not take the form of a regular wolf; they take on a hybrid form of a “Wolf-man” standing over seven feet tall, their skin and fur varies in colours, just like real wolves. Their muzzles are elongated and their eyes vary from animal to human, the longer they are a Were-Wo9lf.
Were-wolves are hard to hunt, their shape change is controlled by the full moon and for the rest of the month they show no signs of being anything other than human. They can no control their shape change and cannot shift on any other night, except the full moon. Many do not even know they are were-wolves, as coming to terms mentally with holding a beat within you is hard for the human mind to master, and it takes years to be able to control your animal actions during the full moon. More often than not, solitary creatures, due to the fear of being discovered. Though, small Were-wolf clans have been reported.
Infection:
The “disease” spreads through saliva and blood, and a human can be infected at any time if they come into contact with bodily fluids from a were-wolf. The were-wolf does not need to be in the animal form to infect someone. This is why numbers are as high as many newly infected do not know they become a wolf every full moon and subsequently do not take the necessary precautions so as not to infect others. The down side of the easy infection is not many survive the first transformation as it is too much for their human bodies to withstand, and they go into shock and die.
Powers:
Newly Infected: When newly infected a were-wolf does not have any human consciousness when in wolf form. When in human form they are not connected with the beast enough to utilize the added benefits, though all were-wolfs have resistance to illness and enhanced strength and speed. Their strength is not as strong, they can pick up people, throw them with ease but would not be able to do so with a car.
Older Were-wolves: Older were-wolves are those who have come to gain control of the beast and in turn keep their humanity when they change. With this they utilize the wolf with in and when in human form have more advanced strength, speed and enhanced senses. Their strength is immense meaning when in human form they can easily pick up a car.
Weaknesses:
Silver. Just like in the movies, Were-wolves cannot stand silver. This goes for when in Wolf form and in human. Silver causes abrasive, deep third degree wounds when in contact with the skin. Were-wolves can be killed like any other Animal, their bodies are not immortal, yes they can heal quickly, but they take damage just like any other creature. Silver Bullets, of course, kill them allot quicker.
They change shape only on the full moon. The longer you are a were-wolf the more you remember when you change shape, and after several years you regain your humanity while in Wolf form. That’s if you are not hunted and killed before you reach that stage. Newly turned Were-Wolves are savage killers when it’s the full moon and have no control over what they do.
