Gabriel heard the call, but stayed by the bedside of the laboring mother until the child she was bringing into the world was heard to cry and breathe it's first breaths of outside air. He turned and with a slow step he left the hospital. He knew what the call meant, they were to once more go to war, once more they would fight, but would they prevail? Would this be the last time? Or would it only postpone the inevitable?
Like a comet streaking across the night sky Gabriel rocketed to the heavens, he passed through the gates and came to rest upon the ground with nary a sound. He furled his six sets of wings behind his back and strode into the midst of the rest that had gathered before him. He arrived just in time to hear Michael's question regrading his whereabouts, "I am arrived Michael, it seems I am late. Pardon my tardyiness Cassiel, if you would once more explain what I have missed."
His voice was neutral, no intensity, no inflection, merely stated flatly, "We have all heard the call to arms, it was not something that was not expected. Now we shall do what is necessary."

Cassiel listened to the angels that spoke and heard what they were saying their questions were indeed noted. That was before Michael came waltzing through the gate, he was dressed for battle and now Cassiel snarled again “The meeting began because it is important needed to be said.” It was all Cassiel got to say before Gabriel made his appearance and to it Cassiel bowed his head in thanks. “As you all know I have not been to heaven as it was my charge to maintain peace in the world a peace that when too far tipped by human or demon hands only than could I make myself known and step in.”
He breathed in deeply. “Hours ago my sanctuary had been attacked but he did not come for me, he came for an angel you all know by the name of Shoftiel. He attacked her and bound her in his demonic iron. I know she has been freed and is being seen to by another fallen comrade. One she knows very well. She passed his Judgment. But that is besides the point, she is safe and being cared for. Satan and I then proceeded to fight after all he had killed many in my ‘home’ and attacked one of the angels needed to bind him.”
Taking a deep breath. “If you would allow me to answer the questions that were thrown out I believe I will also be able to answer what you have missed.” With a bow of his head he took a deep breath and began again. “No we do not Beg Lucifer to return, he wants that and his pride will not allow him to rejoin, we will have to wait until he is ready, we can however go to him and mention things that have happened but never beg nor request out rightly we all know Lucifer’s pride.” Again Cassiel twitched. “Lucas has been too far corrupted by both Lucifer and Satan so much so that he is more demon than angel. But to my knowledge Lucas did not hold the light.”
His eyes turned to Gabriel and to Michael. “These are the two Archangels that would know where the sword may be. Only God can return to Lucifer, his grace. While god has called upon his brother’s destructive powers in the past; not even he wants him awake now. Something’s must be given to be able to take. I do not know the Bargain that is to be struck Shoftiel does, do not seek her out to question her about it, she cannot answer.”
Cassiel then smiled “Lucifer will want to return, Satan will make sure that there is no where for him to turn to but god and if Lucifer wishes to stay away from that he would have to be an underling to Chaos himself. Lucifer doesn’t like playing second and we all know this. But a scale will be tipped just as it had to wake me.” With a quickly drawn breath he then added. “In the fight between Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer, Lucifer also lost his sword, now while we won’t be able to track it we could find it by coming upon it by the aura around it that is only visible to us, it would be very faint as he has not held it in some time.”
“Whither we find the Sword before Lucifer returns or not I cannot say. But as with all our weapons, the Halberd, the Gavel, the Spear, the Sword, the Saber or even the Bow only the angel it has been given to can wield it and have the effect it was meant to have. Shoftiel managed to provide a new weakness for Satan, his right horn, the gavel hit it and shattered it’s once glossy surface. I do not know how long that weakness will last but it is one that we can exploit when facing him.”
His eyes moved from one to the other every angel’s face was looked upon. “Do not play hero, I have lost far too many of my own fighting him twice, get away from him as fast as you can if you are alone, never face him alone he is a god, he is not a demon that will shy away from your light. He can and will rip your wings from your back.” He rolled his own shoulders.

As the others had arrived, Xandrael did not acknowledge their presence with any physical reaction. But it knew they were there. How could it help but notice the gathering of the Seraphim?
Whether they thought it should be present or not, the angel did not allow thoughts of their approval, or disapproval, to enter its mind.
The issue at hand, that was what was important.
And what would they do? The list of objectives had only lengthened... To have Lucifer seek them out of his own accord, to return him to grace, to find and restore the Sword of Morning Light, to bind and return Satan to slumber, and all without disturbing the delicate world of man beyond repair.
Xandrael analyzed each of the objectives, casting away the ones it could not contribute any assistance. The binding of Satan, restoring Lucifer to grace, none of these would benefit from its participation. But the others...
It could search for the sword of the Morning Light, or go to Lucifer and speak of the things it saw. Everyone believed the angel of reflection to be so close to falling, perhaps this rumor had reached Lucifer's ears, and would perhaps increase the chance that he would even hear what Xandrael had to say.
And if the one-time Prince of Hell thought Xandrael could return to him the weapon he held in Heaven...perhaps he would offer some information of its whereabouts...
There was one thing the angel knew for sure. It was this: Lucifer would never listen to anything spoken by a messenger of God. Much less a statement to join forces.
So other means were necessary.
Xandrael moved forward, separating itself from the throng (How often had it done this? Separated itself from the others?). It lowered its head before facing Cassiel, Gabriel, and Michael. Raising it once more, its eyes never met theirs (but when did they?) as it spoke in silence, its mind informing theirs of its statement.
I may speak to the Fallen Star of the Morning... and I may discover a way to his desire... to bind Satan at any cost, to rule over the seven realms once more...
To the angel, it was not an act of heroism. It was simply the best action to take.

Lien nodded a greeting to Gabriel and Michael as the angels made their entrance. Turning then to listen to Cassiel, looking at the two archangels when he did. So Gabriel and Michael had a good chance of locating the sword of morning light, at least one of their jobs was made marginally easier.
The angel turned It's attention then to Xandrael as the messenger stepped forward to speak. It seemed fitting that the messenger of god would be sent to speak with Lucifer, though with the rumors of the angel of reflection's current struggle against falling, Lien wasn't sure that being next to the first of the fallen was entirely good for Xandrael. None the less, Lien nodded It's approval of the idea.
Lien turned to face each of it's seraphim brethren in turn. ending with the throne and the messenger. "And what of the realm of hell? With Lucifer returned to grace, will he be able to return to policing the souls of the damned?"
