It figured, the one day that Esme had cleared her schedule entirely for her parents was the day that they had a giant revelation about their newest case. There hadn't been a time that the three of them could sit down for a civilized dinner since Esme had moved to London. And that particular night was not going to be any different.
She had been sitting at the Westminster Wine Bar for almost an hour, waiting for her parents before she received a text message telling her they couldn't make it. They told her how sorry they were and they'd make it up to her some time. They instructed her to order whatever she wanted and they'd take her shopping as an apology later. Just what her parents always did, they'd promise her anything she wanted just to make up for what they had done wrong.
This particular night, though, Esme felt particularly diabolical and decided to buy the most expensive of everything. She felt the pain of being abandoned once more, and her parent's wallets would too, soon enough.
Esme had already had an entire bottle of wine by herself, her parents' blood left her quite able to hold her own liquor, and was getting ready to finally order dinner when the door to the restaurant opened and the clamor of the restaurant seemed to stop. Esme didn't look up from her menu to discover why the room had gotten so quiet, merely because she didn't want to draw more attention to herself, the lonely dinner. Perhaps that wasn't the greatest idea...

Hell was all long winded plans and small little jabs, at this rate the war would never start. She'd expressed her concerns to Lucifer rather nicely and what did he do? He told her that everything would come in due time. To hell with that idea, not literally, she'd go and find some fun on her own.
To the mortal realm it was then in her favorite form of the young human female with the short brown hair. She was dressed in a short black dress with a plunging neckline that drew the stares of every man or woman in that walked past her. Of course, the body wasn't the only reason they stared. She was the king of demons, all that was evil, and that did very definitely include sex. It was written in every line of her body, no matter what form she took.
She walked into the first building that she came into contact with and let her eyes wander over the humans in the room. So delectable, each soul just waiting, almost begging, to be devoured. Each body promised the rush of human emotions that she longed for, but the king of demons could afford to be selective in her hosts.
The room had gone silent around her and every human in the room was transfixed by her, all except one. There was one little female studying her menu intently, almost as if she hadn't noticed Ruina's presence at all. How dare that ignorant pig ignore her! Oh that would change, the girl was going to regret ignoring her.
The demon crossed the room to the table where the lonely woman sat, her high heels clicking sharply on the floor of the bar. She pushed the menu gently down to the table and away from the girl's face. "Is this seat taken?" She asked with a gesture to the seat across from the girl. "No? Good." Ruina took a seat, crossing one leg over the other. She'd let the silence sit for awhile and let the woman pick up conversation, she'd learned that for some reason silences made humans uncomfortable.

Esme sat in a stunned silence as a woman sat in the seat directly across from her. Beauty was not a word that applied to this woman, she was not beautiful in any sense of the word but truly a sex idol in and of herself. She exuded sex appeal and her picture most likely was found next to the definition of the word "confidence" in any and every dictionary.
Esme stared as the woman sat down at the seat across from her, Esme could just sense that she had picked out that particular seat to sit in merely because Esme had not looked up to watch her walk in. But what bothered Esme most about this woman was not the way she had taken a seat next to Esme without even asking, but that she exuded blood lust from every pore of her body. The woman gave off such a need for blood, for death, for hatred that Esme's blood began to curl just by sitting next to her.
"Um," Esme searched for some words, any words. Although this woman had sat down at her table without any warning, Esme still decided to stick with the kindness she had been taught from a young age. "Would you like something to drink?" Esme offered, calling a waiter over to the table.
"I'm Esme," Esme stuck her hand across the table for the woman to shake. She half expected her to reject her hand all together, but there was no reason to why she shouldn't attempt anyways.

Such a sweet girl with such pretty, pretty manners. It made her want to wretch. Didn't this human have a temper at all? Maybe she'd have to push and find out. Well, looked like she'd found her entertainment for the next few months. Though, she hadn't decided whether to force her way into the human's body now or whether she wanted to play with the girl for awhile, lead her proudly down the path of sin.
"Bloody Mary." She didn't actually know what the drink was but it had the word bloody in it so it couldn't be all bad. She flashed the waiter a smile. "Take your time." She leaned over slightly so that the waiter brushed against her on his way to the kitchen. He stumbled over his own feet and ran into another server.
Ruina turned back to the human with a grin and took the offered hand, though instead of shaking it she simply ran her hand over the skin. "So smooth." She mused and grinned. What name to use this time...so many choices. "You can call me Roxy." The name wasn't her favorite but it would do for now.
She tossed a wink to a man across the bar before returning her attention to Esme. "He's cute huh? Why aren't you sitting with him instead of all by your lonesome?" She leaned slightly on the surface of the table, with her head propped up on one hand while she stared across the table at the human. Esme wasn't homely, maybe once she was dead then Ruina would take on her shape now and again.

Esme winced slightly as the woman ran her hand across hers. Her skin began to tingle where the woman had touched her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Roxy," Esme said, keeping up with the formalities.
Esme followed Roxy's gaze towards a man at the bar, he wasn't unattractive but he was no where near as attractive as the many men Esme had spent time with in her past. "I was actually waiting for my parents to join me... an hour ago," Esme admitted. "Besides, he's not exactly that aesthetically pleasing. Why aren't you with him, rather than me? Such a dull, boring girl I am."
Esme had long ago realized that the evil coming from every pore of the woman's body was that of someone from a different world. And it wasn't until the woman touched her that she realized that this woman was one to fear, even if only slightly. Fear was in order, but not so much that she would notice the fear.
Esme swallowed that fear and remained normal around her. The one thing Esme had realized was that everyone from the world of the supernatural she had met could not figure that she were a witch, and the longer she could keep this woman away from that revelation, possibly the better.

"They abandon you a lot." It wasn't a question It was obvious the little girl had mommy and daddy issues. Why not air some dirty laundry? Anger was a good start to violence, she just had to find that one little thing that made her more angry than anything else in her pathetically short life. If she could say just the right thing, which she always did, the next time she saw this charming girl would be standing over a dead body with a gun in her hand.
She laughed coyly when Esme said that the guy wasn't really all that handsome and then dared to ask why Ruina wasn't with the man herself. Maybe she'd misjudged the innocence level of this one. Not all that handsome, who did this human have to compare him with? "He's nothing out of the ordinary, that's why. I don't waste my time with run of the mill, even handsome run of the mill."
She blew a kiss to the waiter as he brought back her drink. Why didn't this female act the way humans were supposed to around her? There was something off about this one. Oh well, all the more fun. Give her a week and she'd have the girl kissing her toes. "How about something more for my friend here?" Drunk humans did the most entertaining things. The waiter left the table to return to the kitchen again.
She rapped her fingers against the table, hoping the human had a pet peeve and would get frustrated over it. "So," She snickered. "Come here often?"

"Not quite mummy and daddy issues, I actually adore my parents. It's the work of living up to their expectations I have trouble with. Granted, I've done it for 20 years now, I can keep it up for another 40, if any of us lives even that long. This world is a cruel one, and we humans have to fight to keep our heads above water."
This woman was quite peculiar indeed, she was having fun flirting even the ugliest of the male specimen. Why was that? Did she not see humans that often? She had a feeling that the woman was attempting get Esme drunk, what she wasn't aware of was that Lolland woman can handle more liquor than the men of even the strongest pub going line.
She thanked her softly for ordering her another drink and watched as the waiter bounced off, obviously happy he was serving such beautiful women. The woman began to tap the table, a habit that Esme had had when she was younger when she spent hours on end playing piano. She even found herself playing an imaginary piano every now and again.
Esme watched her finger's movements, nothing like the fingers of a pianist. They moved swiftly, proving that if Roxy wanted to she could play even the most complex of classical pieces with ease, but also moving clumsily showing how little her fingers were used to the exercise. "You could play the piano so beautifully if you merely spent time doing scales. Your fingers are so swift, you could rival the abilities of some of the greatest if you truly wanted to," Esme stated nodding towards her fingers.
"And no, I don't frequent this establishment. I haven't had the time recently, too much studying to be done. How about yourself? Do you often find yourself in places such as this. You seem dressed to go to a disco... or a techno... or a dance club... or whatever they're called."

"Are you really sure you could live up to their expectations? Maybe that's why their not here, they probably had something better to do. Face the facts, sweetheart, they don't care about you at all but they can't get rid of you without shaming themselves. Sounds cruel, I know but you said it yourself, this is a cruel world." She added just a bit of persuasion to the words, enough to make Esme doubt her parent's love just a little.
She rolled her eyes and made a sound of dismissal at Esme's thanks for the drink. If she piled on the sugar any thicker, Ruina was sure to choke on it. What was more, the finger tapping didn't bother the girl at all. All she got for her efforts was a comment about how if she wanted to, she could play the piano. "I don't see a need for things such as music."
Ruina stopped tapping her fingers and started shaking the leg that was crossed on top of the other. Something had to irritate this human and she'd figure out what it was by the end of tonight. "Studying? What a bore, you should be spending your time having fun. You're only young once after all." Again, a hint of persuasion. If she could ruin the girl's grades then maybe she'd become bitter.
"I dress like this all the time and I find myself wherever I want to." Hell and all over the human realms. There wasn't an inch of the earth that she hadn't been to at least once. She'd even possessed the rulers of most of what today were referred to as countries. Eternity was one damn good travel plan.

Esme's blood began to boil just a little, this woman had no idea when to stop. Esme closed her eyes for a little while and took a slow calming breath, a tactic her brother had taught her when she was younger so she could avoid her panic attacks. "It's hard living up to anyone's expectations, but even though my parents would hate to show it, they do have some sort of love. It's just that the law firm comes first in their lives, it always has and it always will. I'm used to it by now."
Esme dismissed her comment on there being no need for music, there had never been a person who had said to her that there was no need for it, but Esme wasn't going to get upset merely because Roxy didn't like music. To each his, or her, own.
Roxy gave up on the tapping and began to rock one of her legs. An odd habit, Esme had to admit, Esme began to wonder if this person had some form of ADD that kept them from staying still. She most definitely had a twitch of some sort. But Esme, common decency made sure that you strayed away from the mental disabilities of a stranger and that was what Esme would do.
"I know one's only young once, many of my newer friends have attempted to convince me to do what I want now because youth is so fleeting. But studies show that the human brain is more likely to absorb information when it's younger. Besides, if I didn't study now, I wouldn't have a job to pay for the things I'd want to do later in life. But I will take you advice and have some fun every now and again," Esme smiled, her voice showed no hint of sarcasm when she thanked the woman for the advice.

Uh oh, she'd struck a nerve. Ruina smirked as she watched the human try and calm herself down with deep breathing and other such ridiculous things. "You're not used to it." She laughed and the sound held a bitter edge to it like Ruina understood the girl's deepest pains. "Poor little Esme, always second, always trying to prove herself. Always trying to be accepted, never normal, an outsider, a freak even in your own family."
When the girl had gotten upset, something small had flashed inside of her. Barely noticeable to the likes of Ruina but it had been there. So, there was some sort of power to this little female? It was going to be extra fun now. Magic was so unpredictable after all, besides witches were so easily tricked. All she had to do was utter the word familiar. Of course after tonight she would probably have to take on a different form, the girl wasn't likely to trust this one any longer.
The waiter appeared back at their table and placed another bottle of wine between them. Ruina tossed him a wink and he went stumbling on his way. She scoffed at the girl's sugary answer to the talk of doing what you wanted. Didn't she care about anything? Everything was perfect in this human's world. Where was all the complaining about work or family that all the other humans did nonstop? Where was the jealousy and hate?
"Drink up." She said with a jerk of the head towards the bottle of wine and took a swig out of her own drink. She made a noticeable glance towards the woman's ring hand. "Not married yet huh? But still not interested in rather cute guys...must have a boyfriend then?"
